I am a certified technician of the
Digital Pulsewave Analyzer, and I invite you to
call or email today to make an appointment for
your own seven point FDA approved cardiovascular
screening.
The DPA is an award-winning portable screening
device manufactured by Meridian Medical. It offers
new insight into the state of the cardiovascular
system. It records information in a convenient
printout you can share with your doctor.
This affordable, non-invasive, pain-free test costs
only $50 and takes less than 3 minutes. My 15 minute
explanation informs you of your pulse rate, pulse
height (similar to stroke volume), recognition
(which is like an electrocardiogram), and ejection
time (which is similar to an echocardiogram). It
indicates arterial stiffness and potential plaque
build up by measuring the amount your large arteries,
medium arteries, veins and capillaries are restricted.
You'll be assigned an "age" and a "grade" to
your arteries. The reading it gives is considered
more accurate than either blood pressure or cholesterol
readings at predicting future cardiovascular problems.
Dr. Jay Wilkins reports in his interpretive guide: "The
DPA system is designed to detect potential underlying
vascular disease. Healthy arteries are flexible
and elastic - they expand and briefly store blood
from each heartbeat thereby helping the heart move
blood to all areas of your body. Unhealthy or diseased
arteries are often stiff or hardened - thereby
placing extra strain on the heart and artery wall,
which can result in heart attacks, strokes, kidney
failure and/or sudden death.
The DPA system measures the elasticity of your
arteries. This quick test involves placing your
index finger into a sensor device where light from
LEDs is transmitted through the tissue. A photodiode
detects the changes in the amount of light absorbed
by hemoglobin."
How will the information from a DPA test help?
Cardiovascular disease is known as the "Silent
Killer" because it often produces no symptoms
until it becomes quite advanced. From the Meridian
Medical website: "The DPA can help caregivers
reduce cardiovascular disease in their patient
populations through early detection and prevention.
The DPA can also monitor the effectiveness of treatment
modalities-whether they are lifestyle changes such
as exercise, nutritional supplementation, or pharmaceutical
medications. If a particular treatment is effective,
you will see an improvement in the DPA test."
A report published in the July 2006 issue of the
American Journal of Cardiology indicated that as
many as 90,000 lives could be saved each year if
non-invasive screenings were conducted with all
asymptomatic men between the ages of 45-75 and
women between the ages of 55-75.

cardiovascular screening

The test is billable through insurance or Medicare
when ordered by your physician. If you are not
receiving the test through a doctor's office your
test is an affordable $50.
Please note: as an educator and NOT a doctor,
I offer no medical advice. I make no medical claims
for the treatment, prevention, cure or mitigation
of disease. If you suffer from chronic disease,
consult your doctor before you make any changes
to your diet or nutritional regimen. Be sure and
ask your doctor or pharmacist about contraindications
if you are taking any medications, especially nitroglycerin.
